2pi Software at Circular Futures 2.0 – Building Digital Tools for a Circular Future

Our team at 2pi Software were thrilled to be involved in this year’s Circular Futures 2.0 Expo, held on 11 August 2025. The event brought together more than 120 high school students from across the Bega Valley and surrounding regions, placing the spotlight firmly on the next generation – the people we are really building a circular economy for.

As part of the Bega Circular Valley program, we joined other innovative organisations in showcasing practical solutions and pathways toward a more sustainable and resilient future. Our presentation explored how digital tools and AI/ML technologies can support circularity at scale, with a strong focus on local impact and sovereign-safe data solutions.

Sharing Technology with the Next Generation

At our stand, students had the chance to learn about:

• WeedRemeed – our AI-enabled weed detection and precision-spraying platform that reduces chemical use and environmental impact, supports biodiversity through rare species preservation, and plays a significant role in the carbon credit market. It also enables smarter farming through canopy estimation and data sharing tools for long-term analysis.
  
• VERSD – our sovereign-safe AI platform designed to support circularity by bringing together knowledge from many sources, both structured and unstructured, and making it easy to search, analyse, and generate insights. With tailored information, localised solutions, and reporting capabilities, VERSD helps communities and organisations turn information into action not only at the regional and community level but also on a national scale.
  
• Software Careers in the Circular Economy – insights into what it’s like to work in software engineering, data science, and AI/ML, and how local careers in tech can have a global impact.
  

By engaging directly with students, we were able to highlight how coding, AI, and cloud technologies are not just abstract concepts but powerful tools that can be applied to real-world environmental and community challenges.

Supporting Bega Circular Valley

2pi Software has been part of the Bega Circular Valley initiative since its inception, supporting the program through demonstrations, shared expertise, and showcasing how technology can play a role in building circular economy pathways.

Events like Circular Futures are a reminder of why this work matters, because it’s about creating opportunities and building tools that future generations will rely on.
